Since 1983 we’ve been the store with the birds 🦜 Our store has seen a lot over the years, but nothing could prepare us for the devastation of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Just a year ago we came back to 4ft of water and mud inside, months of repairs ahead, and totally at loss. Happy New Year!�It's been a busy time for us as we've been working hard on remodeling after the hurricane damage we sustained in September. The drywall is finished, we're currently working on painting (with the help of our cutest little assistant!), and the dressing rooms are in progress. We’re hoping to have the floors installed in the next few weeks. It’s been a long road, but we’re aiming to be open by the end of February or early March. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has checked in on us, the birds, and offered a helping hand along the way. Your support means the world to us! The birds are doing well and are currently staying at Paradise Bird Rescue and Sanctuary until we’re able to bring them back to the store. They miss seeing all our amazing customers and can’t wait to reunite with everyone when we reopen!

Demo has begun! It’s bittersweet seeing the demo happening, so many memories and years of hard work being ripped out but we’re looking forward to a fresh start, closing of one chapter and the beginning of a new one. Due to Hurricane Helene 🌀and Hurricane Milton 🌀we are currently closed to remediate the damage from the storms and remodel. The store has been emptied so we can start the remediation and remodel process. Our littlest helper has been labeling our boxes 📦 for us 😉We hope to reopen soon! A little update post Hurricane Milton 🌀 the birds are safe and doing good. They rode out the hurricane at a bird rescue off the island. We are so thankful for Birds Of Paradise Sanctuary & Rescue, Inc. for taking such good care of the birds for us. The store did receive more damage from Milton, but we are fortunate that the damage wasn’t worse than it was. We are continuing to assess the damage, and make repairs so we can reopen as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, stopped by to help and those who have prayed for us. The damage has been overwhelming but we know we will get through this. We still have a lot to do before we will be open again, but we making progress each day. Here are some pictures from the storm, you can see how high the water line was on the gate.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out asking about the birds and store. The birds are good, however the store much like many other businesses sustained damage from Hurricane Helene. We will be closed until further notice, hopefully not too long. As of now Anna Maria Island is closed to the public, only residents and business owners with RE ENTRY tags are being allowed on. We will let you know when we are back open. The damage from Hurricane Helene is devastating. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those impacted by it ❤️
